Description

To help you better understand the process used behind creating these new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), what and where the changes are occurring, impacts of the NFIP Reform, and the cost-saving options that are available, FEMA is holding stakeholder workshops. Discussion topics will include what to say and what you can do to help clients who have been newly mapped into a higher-risk or lower-risk zone or when the Base Flood Elevation (BFE) changes. What the new Limit of Moderate Wave Action (LiMWA) that appears on the new coastal FIRMs means will also be discussed as well as where to go for more information. Representatives from FEMA and TDI will present and be on hand to answer questions.

There is no charge for this workshop and we encourge you to share information about this event with other flood insurance agents and real estate professionals.

A Flood Risk Open House will be held for the public at the same location from 2-7 pm the same day. Be sure to invite your clients, friends and neighbors to attend the Open House for more information about the new maps.
